Groove This! is the collaboration of Sly Geralds on the bass/Chapman Stick/vocals and Tom Schlund on drums and percussion featuring specials guest musicians to create a full production funk & rhythm experience and full blown dance party.
They are up to the task when it comes to entertaining the crowd by playing all the favorite funk, rock, blues, reggae and island music, including tunes by Prince, Stevie Wonder, Sublime, James Brown, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones and more.
Simply put, all the music that will have you "Shakin' what your Mama gave you!"

Sly Geralds
Sly is a singer and songwriter who has traveled the world and back playing blues festivals with some of the most influential musical artists of our time. He has shared the stage with musical giants such as Maceo Parker, Al Green, Levon Helm, Richie Havens and Bob Dylan to name a few.
He now plays an instrument called the Chapman Stick . This unique instrument is played by less than 10,000 people worldwide, with only approximately 1000 playing it in a live setting on a regular basis. Fortunately, for the residents of Southwest Florida, he has made the decision to bring this amazing instrument and talent to the area via the duo Groove This!, accompanied by Tom Schlund on drums and percussion.
His original music seamlessly blends elements of blues, jazz, funk, soul and rock and gives a nod to the masters of roots music while still maintaining a contemporary feel. His time spent in New Orleans has influenced his writing, as has living in New York City for most of his life.
Sly’s banter with the audience is equally impressive. He cajoles the audience into leaving their workday worries behind and joining him on the dance floor to “shake what their mama gave them!"

Tom Schlund
Tom has had the privilege to entertain hundreds of thousands of people over his 40 year career, sharing the stage with rock legends Humble Pie, Badfinger, Foghat, and even Country Joe McDonald and the Fish of Woodstock fame to name a few.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, he brings an energy and percussive sound not found in many duos using the best of both worlds of drums and percussion (acoustic and electric) to Groove This!, SWFL's Funkin' Duo.
Tom's heavier, edgier background on drums and percussion coupled with Sly's bluesy, funky feel on the Chapman Stick paves the way for a duo that presents a full, sonically pleasing, percussive groove all night long.
